15th & 16th April 2025 – Guitars Go On The (forthcoming) Album
So, Dear Reader, if you have kept up with this recording, we aren’t sticking to any rules on this project, we aren’t even recording the Bass parts 2nd like most bands do in the process. So guitars, started on the Tuesday and Pat managed to do all the songs but just one part per song. Wednesday, he returns and does the whole lot of songs again, this time with a second guitar that’s slightly different to Tuesday’s parts, so now we have stereo guitars. Pat was extremely pleased with the session at Orion Studios in Rotherham, with Steve Ellis (who Pat first worked with 25 years ago, on his first band; King Palooka, which was subsequently played on BBC Radio1 by Steve Lamacq.)

27th March 2025 – We are in the Safety Pin Magazine – Spring 2025 Edition.
Interviews with MC16, The Wall, Instigators, Folk Devils, The Charlemagnes, Vicious Bishop, Los Chicos, Puncturists and more.

16th February 2025 – We Finally Start The First Full Length “Studio” Album.

New album recording, Day One: The Drums!
A chilly morning in Rotherham and the rhythm section, Martin and Dale are at The Chantry Brewery together with Chantry Brewery Tap sound engineer and producer of the album, Steve Ellis (Orion Studios).
Martin is here to lay down the drum parts to all 11 songs, using the click/guide tracks Dale had previously put together while Dale’s role was guidance, encouragement and provision of doughnuts!
It took over 2 hours to get the kit set up and the mics in place, 16 of them, one for each drum and cymbal (2 for the snare – top and bottom), 2 overheads and the rest dotted around the place to capture the fullest possible sound and get all the lovely ambience of the room.
This was the first time that Martin had recorded to a click before and it can be disconcerting but he took to it like a swan to water. Steve’s plan was to record 3 full takes of each song so that we could take the best one forward and then layer the guitars and vocals on at a later date.
Out of the 11 songs making up the album, title still to be confirmed but we have one or two strong contenders, 9 of them have been performed live, 8 of these will likely feature in the set list for our gig next Sunday in Pontefract. The other 2 are an instrumental and what will be the album closer and which may surprise a few people.
Once he’d got into his stride, Martin cracked on at pace and in just about 5 hours all 11 tracks were complete – I bet he’s feeling it today!
Having listened back to what was recorded, we’re absolutely delighted with the sound that Steve has got for the drums, pre-production and these will provide a stunning backbone for the rest of the instruments and vocals to go on. We’ve had to wait for Steve to become available to produce the album but already it’s safe to say that the wait will have been worth it – top bloke, Steve!
We’d also like to express huge thanks and appreciation to the good people at The Chantry Brewery for allowing us to use the Brewery Tap venue and facilities to record the drums yesterday.
There’s no official release date for the album as yet but with plenty of gigs and festival appearances in and around May we’re hopeful that it will be available by then. We’ll keep you all informed of progress.
Hope to see some of you at Frankie’s Bar next Sunday afternoon, Feb 23rd, when we’re supporting Wonk Unit and/or the following Friday 28th Feb at Vault 27 in Barnsley with our good friends Bones Park Rider.

Here’s our next gig – Tram Sunday Punk
Here’s a review by Emma Penfold, from our last gig at the Adelphi Club, Hull with The Nanobots & Zero Cost. – for full review click here.
“The Puncturists proved that by packing a right good punch to the heart. I almost forgot I had a heart. Their lyrics, their tone, their crowd work, their variety – not – too shabby – not too shabby at all. They give you life-lessons this band. They’re from Barnsley… I think, they’re worth a listen… for the education. They have a song with a head nod or two to historical feats of literature, about the royally protected creature, swans… they ‘can break your arm’. The band are quite clear-cut on how they feel about establishments that aggravate them too, with a song entitled ‘Pissing me off’, repeated… a lot. Feeling is something they like to linger… along with false finishes… and that’s the power of punk there, to unseat you, to shake you up; it works, it really works.”
